+Plus1

+Plus1 is a group exhibition featuring LANTANA Space founders, current resident artists and their assorted plus ones. Playing on the idea of a family BBQ, artists and audiences were encouraged to bring a plus one as a way to network, meet and build connections. The works shown are a mixture of old and new, resolved and in development, poised to work as conversation starters and to educate audiences around emerging contemporary arts practices.

The exhibition features works by space founders Ebony Busk, Coen Keyte, Jordyn Burnett and Warwick Gow. Alongside current resident artists Courtney Scheu, Itamar Freed and Evelyn Marina. Each artist was invited to bring a plus one into this show to be curated alongside the respective works. The invited artists include Amanda Bennetts, Riley McMahon, Tess Miller, Kyah Nimue and Ruby Donohoe. The works shown represent a diverse group of artists across a range of mediums including painting, sculpture, installation art, photography, video art, clay and performance.

LANTANA Space is an experimental DIY arts space with a focus on growing the arts ecology of the area. The +Plus1 exhibition is a visual representation of what this can look like and is a way to encourage artists to gather, share and collaborate.
